Your Floral Investment
It is helpful if you share your wedding flower budget with me. Wedding costs can quickly add up, and often couples don’t have a clear sense of floral pricing when they first enquire.
Wedding flowers play such an important role in shaping the overall feel of your day and bringing your vision to life. Often the photos and Pinterest boards shared with me lean towards something abundant and textural, and the investment these couples have made typically reflects that.
If you have a tight budget, I can gently refine designs with you. We can look at the flowers and designs that matter most to you, alongside the elements you’re happy to simplify. I’m always happy to work through these decisions with you to find the right balance. Alternatively, if you’re open to extending your budget, I can work with you to create florals that feel more impactful and truly elevate the overall aesthetic of your day.
How I create your quote
Every wedding is different, so your floral proposal is tailored to your ideas and the overall feel you’d like to create.
When preparing your quote, I consider:
Style and design — the shape, movement, texture and overall look of each arrangement.
Stem count — the number of individual flower and foliage stems needed to achieve your desired design.
Size and abundance — whether you’re drawn to something compact or open, flowing and generous.
Specialty flowers — flowers such as proteas, anthuriums, peonies and orchids can add a beautiful focal point and something a little unexpected, but they sit at a higher price point.
Finishing details — the little extras, such as your choice of bouquet ribbon or other special additions.
All flowers depend on the season and availability.
Flowers are generally purchased from wholesalers in bunches of five or ten stems, depending on the variety. These bunches are distributed across several bouquets and arrangements, allowing the flowers to work together as a cohesive collection. For this reason, floral pricing isn’t always as straightforward as assigning an individual cost to every stem or design. Your proposal reflects the flowers, quantities and overall design required to bring everything together beautifully.
As a general guide, wedding planners often suggest allowing around 10–15% of your total wedding budget for flowers, or closer to 20% if florals are intended to be a major feature of your day. These are only broad guidelines; your actual investment will depend on your priorities, the scale of your wedding and the designs you choose.
Securing Your Date
A 50% deposit secures your wedding date, with the remaining 50% due four weeks before your wedding. At this point, I will have placed the final flower order with my wholesalers. Wholesaler have a time where the flowers order from them become non-refundable and cannot be cancelled. Any changes to your flowers or your date or wedding status may incur a percentage loss of your deposit, or final amount.
Contract
If you choose to work with me as your florist, I send through a simple contract form. This outlines what is included in your floral proposal and an agreement to secure both you as the Bride + Groom, and myself working together. Your deposit is acknowledgement of your agreement with this contract.
Delivery + Setup
Wedding flower delivery and set up is charged separately. If I’m delivering and setting up your flowers at the wedding venue, I charge the standard IRD mileage rate, plus travel time for fuel, and an hourly cost for set up.
If you’d like your bridal flowers delivered to where you’re getting ready or to a location for pre-ceremony photographs, this is an additional delivery. Delivery to another address, such as the groom’s family, will also incur an additional travel cost.
You’re very welcome to collect your flowers from my workshop at no extra cost.
All bridal flowers are carefully packaged and delivered in water. Corsages and buttonholes are supplied in a wet-wrap container so they stay fresh and beautiful until they’re ready to wear.
Hireage
If your flowers include hired vessels, stands, arches, boards or other styling pieces, these are charged separately. We’ll chat about when and where hire items need to be returned. Any damage or loss will incur a replacement fee. If you’d like me to return to the venue to pack down your florals or collect hire items, travel, fuel and time will be added to your final invoice.
Everything created will be thoughtfully designed and professionally finished, and I want you to absolutely love the end result. Let me know what feels most important to you —and we will work towards that.
Beautifully Considered, From Beginning to End
I believe wedding flowers should feel like a natural extension of your day — thoughtfully designed, beautifully finished and true to the atmosphere you want to create. Whether your vision is softly romantic and understated or abundant, expressive and full of movement, I want you to love what we create together. Share what matters most to you, the flowers you’re drawn to and the feeling you want your day to hold. From there, we can find a way to bring your vision to life, beautifully and thoughtfully.

Let me answer a few of your questions -
Why are wedding flowers so expensive?
When you see a beautiful bouquet or floral installation, you’re seeing the finished piece. What you don’t see is everything that happens before the first flower is even placed.
It begins with you — listening to your ideas, looking through your Pinterest boards, talking about your favourite flowers and those that hold meaning for you, and getting a feel for how you want your wedding day to look and feel.
From there, I interpret your ideas into a floral design that feels personal to you. We talk through style, colour, flowers, seasonality and budget, with consultations happening face-to-face, by email, text and phone.
Behind every design is a flower recipe — working out exactly how many stems and which varieties are needed to create the shape, movement, colour and fullness you’ve imagined. Orders are placed, often months in advance and through multiple suppliers, to secure the flowers needed.
Then the flowers arrive. Sometimes in many boxes and buckets!! Every stem is checked, cleaned and conditioned. Leaves and thorns are removed, flowers are carefully stored and their blooming times managed so they’re at their best for your wedding day. Some designs also involve sourcing or foraging for those special foliages, pods, grasses and fronds that add the little bit of wild.
And sometimes flowers don’t arrive as expected. I work with suppliers to find beautiful alternatives, making sure your flowers still feel exactly right.
There are also the details you don’t see — floral mechanics, ribbons, special protective packaging of your bouquets to ensure secure delivery, vessels and structures, along with coordinating couriers, deliveries, travel, set-up, pack-down and working with your other vendors to make sure everything comes together seamlessly.
And then comes the magic — bringing it all together and turning your floral dreams into something you can actually hold, walk into and remember forever.
Can you make my dream wedding flowers a reality?
Yes I can! Choosing your wedding florist is an important decision. As your florist, I want to help you set the theme you want for your special day.
Tell me everything you’re dreaming about — the flowers you adore, the colours you’re drawn to, the feeling you want your day to have, and all those little ideas you’ve been collecting along the way.
Bring or send me your Pinterest boards, saved photos and even the ideas you can’t quite put into words yet.
I’ll listen, help you bring it all together, and using my knowledge, skill and experience, turn those ideas into flowers that feel beautifully, unmistakably you.
- Not a copy of someone else’s wedding.
- Not just a collection of pretty flowers.
Something personal. Something that belongs to your story - your dream flowers, brought to life.
Are wedding flowers worth the investment?
[Do they really make a difference to our day?]
YES! Wedding flowers play an essential part in how your wedding feels.
We call wedding flowers an investment because flowers bring your vision to life — turning the colours, places, ideas and little details you’ve imagined into something you can actually step into and experience.
They create the atmosphere around your ceremony, make your reception feel beautiful and considered, and add those little moments of magic throughout your day.
Your flowers become part of the story you’ll keep — your bouquet in your hands, flowers framing your vows, your tables filled with blooms, and all those beautiful details captured in your photographs to look back on.
Your flowers are not just beautiful for beautiful’s sake, but reflect you personally, holding meaning and completely at home within your day.
Long after the day, long after the flowers have faded, the feeling they helped create — and the memories captured amongst them — remain.
A little about what you can do with your flowers afterwards -
Take some time to think about what you might like to do with your flowers.
Depending on what type of flowers are used, you can dry your bouquets and other designs to have them styled later into a Keepsake design - like a wreath, a wall hanging, or a shadow box. Any of these are a lovely way to remember your special day.
Ask someone to do this for you at the end of your day -
gather the flowers, tie the stems together and hang them upside-down in a dry room.
Then get in touch with me to talk about your Keepsake design ideas.
You can give your flowers away. I love this idea. Ask someone beforehand to be in charge of this on your wedding day. Give a special friend, a family member, or a vendor a beautiful flower arrangement to say thanks. Have them taken apart and turned into simple bouquets to be given to rest home residents to enjoy. Tell your guests to help themselves to a flower or two as they leave the reception.
But please do something!
I’ve experienced this as both the florist and a guest at a wedding - at the end of the night, as guests departed and the caterers began to pack down, I watched beautiful floral arrangements being gathered up and thrown away. It wasn’t anyone’s fault. No one had done anything wrong. It simply hadn’t been thought about — what happens to the flowers once the wedding is over. Instead of seeing them go to waste, I rescued as many as I could and turned them into simple bouquets to be given away the following day. It made me realise that a little thought and planning can give your wedding flowers a beautiful life beyond the day itself.
My commitment to you
I will create beautiful professional lush wedding designs using quality flowers and foliage based on our conversations. I know you will love them!
